A Viral Haiku

My friend Keira shared the haiku she wrote for our current situation. The arts have a therapeutic effect on us. Poetry in particular enables us to understand our human condition on a deeper level. Not to deny the ill effects of social isolation, if some of us emerge from this with a renewed creative outlet, it will be a silver lining for our clouded sanity. Perhaps the president should, like Winston Churchill during the blitz, learn to paint.
